Back in the Good Old Days (tm) of the Internet, static IP was assumed, "no servers allowed" terms of service were inconseveable, and that your machine ran a web, FTP, telnet, ssh, nfs server was a given. If you wanted to know if someone was on, the finger program would tell you, without having to involve anyone like ICQ, AOL, or some other unrelated third party, then you could talk to them with the talk program. ICQ is just an incompatible reimplementation of IRC anyway. OH, and no disk quotas, you just had to defend yourself from the other users.
And, there were never ever any advertisements.
Thats what this site is.
